Post College Life

After you leave college and enter the real world, you suddenly realize how different it really is. Mostly when you move away from your comfort zone of home and your college town.

It's surprisingly hard to meet new people and make friends. I work in an office where the youngest person is 32! They are all way past the late nights, beer pong, and going out. Jake has met a few people at starbucks, but they are busy people who have 2 jobs, trying to get to know, or some are annoying. At the restaurant, they are so busy that they can't ever hang out after or random days. I know 5 AXO's in the area and we are so spread out that you have to make sure to plan something in advance. Everyone has a different schedule.

Plus you realize how fast your paycheck disappears. I make almost 600 more then I did in college and still, I don't get much saved up. Rent in the real world is much higher then college. And even higher in DC, $949 for a studio, can you believe that? Cable and internet is not included in Rent!Groceries, when your actaully cooking for yourself and trying to eat out less, is like $200-$250 a month.

Paying back those mysterious college loans... it seems so far away when you get them, but then the day of graduation you get you loan repayment forms and you realize, you have 6 months! to find a job or to save up before you start paying them back..and the payments are high..even with consolidation. It's like a car payment!

Plus, credit... you think ahh, it doesn't matter..well, it does. You need good credit to get anywhere. I am working on bettering mine right now..but man I am glad Jaker has awesome credit. It helps us out.

It's hard to stay in contact with old friends..everyone is busy and unless you see them everyday, you tend to forget to call and say hi. I try and message people on facebook to let them now I care, but I am not even sure whats going on in there lives. If there dating someone new, if their fighting with their best friend. Ahhh! Keep me updated people.

I guess the message of this post is... I miss you all way to much. And enjoy college while you still can!..oh, and of course my push, COME TO DC AFTER GRADUATION!
