Unnecessary Secret [12/?]

“No, no. It’s not about the sex for him.”

Sho woke up the very next morning when he realized the other side of his bed was empty. Jun was not there anymore. He sat on his bed, stared at the empty space and started to doubt his own brain.
Don’t tell me it was just a mere dream.

He walked so slowly to the door, afraid that when he open the door Jun won’t be there and it was all really just a dream. A sweet dream.

His hand was heavy when he reached the door knob. He turned it with a cautious heart.
Please………

“Morning, Sho chan!” Jun was there, stood in the middle of the small kitchen with apron on and a pan of steaming food on his hand.

Sho exhaled a long breath. He almost fell to the floor out of relief. He observed the younger closely then.

Jun moved graciously in the kitchen, juggled between the pan and the plates. He was wearing Sho’s t-shirt, a little bit over-sized and fell off his shoulder innocently. Jun looked pure. He looked so young it almost made Sho feel bad for dating him.
Of course he looked so young. You’re 18 and he’s only 13, Sakurai Sho! 13.. and mine.

“Morning, Jun chan!” Sho walked across the room and stole a slight peck on Jun’s cheek. “I’m glad you’re here.”

Just about then, Satoshi’s door slammed open and Satoshi rushed out, “Dammit, Nino!”

Nino’s giggle heard from the opened room.

Satoshi just stood in front of the door, tried to catch his own breath. His face was as red as Jun’s spaghetti sauce and a bulge visible in his pants.

“Ah, that brat do it again, eh? Cold shower would help,” Sho said calmly.

Satoshi nodded quickly and got back to his room, planned to go straight to the bathroom but Nino was faster than him.

“Too late, old man,” Nino closed the bathroom door in front of Satoshi.

“Oi!” Satoshi screamed in desperation. He then walked unwillingly to the kitchen and sat in the dining table.

Sho approached the older boy and sat next to him, “Sorry for that bratty little brother of mine.”

“He’s making it harder for me to keep my promise to you. Aaaargh!” Satoshi put his head on the table. “Maybe it’s not you who is a sex addict. Maybe it’s him.”

Sho laughed, “No, no. It’s not about the sex for him.”

“What is it about then? To see me writhing in despair?” Satoshi banged his head to the table several times.

“It’s to indulge himself with the proof of your sincere love,” Sho munched a piece of bread that Jun just sliced.

Satoshi lifted his head, confused by the sayings.

“The fact that you tried so hard to fulfill your promise to me despite his seduction is a proof that you’re in love with him sincerely. And he is addicted to it. To the proof. To the assured feeling that you are in love with him.”

“But he could just ask to me!” Satoshi put his head back to the table.

Sho looked at the older and sighed.
I should explain the situation to him eventually, eh?

Jun tilted his head towards Sho, “What is it, Sho chan?”

Sho turned his head to Jun and smiled. “Could you please close that door, dear?” Sho pointed to the door of Satoshi’s room then patted a chair beside him, “and after that sit here, Jun chan.”

Jun obeyed. He got a feeling that Sho was about to tell something important so he paused his activity at the kitchen at once.

“Despite his bratty and carefree manner, he’s actually a fragile and insecure little boy inside,” Sho sounded somewhat sad.

Satoshi lifted his head once again, he listened carefully.

“Our parents are extremely busy, just like yours and Masaki’s. The difference is they don’t know how to show their affection very well, especially to Kazu,” Sho played with a fork he found in front of him, “they leave Kazu’s care on me since I was old enough to bear responsibility. They reasoned that it would shorten our gap, since we are only half-brothers. To make us as close as real brothers, they said. But, they slowly became a stranger to Kazu.”

Satoshi looked down, tried to fathom the information.

“Kazu has parents, he loves his parents, but they are so far away and unreachable to him. He used to come to my room every night and say, ‘Mom and Dad doesn’t love me. Why is it, Nii chan?’ and he would cry to sleep. When we grew a little older, he found out that most of his friends are his friend because of the great Ninomiya name he bear and not because of himself, therefore he retreated and felt unliked. He decided to keep a safe distance from society and conceal his loneliness, thus his bratty manner emerged,” Sho lowered his head.

“I was the only person he has, the only person he trust. Insecurities built up inside him, that’s why I spoilt him and that’s why I called him fancy names - to remind him that he still has me. But I’m not a good person either, I left him alone when I went rebel - you know... the fucking here and there stuff. His mark lowered that time and I realized how disappointed he was to me,” Sho scratched his head, “I shouldn’t do that. It hurts him so much because I was the only one he look up to. I was his father, his mother, his brother, and his only best friend at once.”

Satoshi pondered. He started to feel bad for complaining.

“That is, until he let you in and let me share those roles with you. He is in love with you and he needs you to be his - to be in love with him constantly. He needs to be assured that you won’t abandon him. Maybe that’s why he seduced you at the first place. To mark you as him,” Sho smiled, “or maybe... to mark himself as yours. His way is a screwed up one, yes. But his intention is not filthy.”

Satoshi stared blankly to Sho. He admitted that sometimes he could see that Nino is actually a vulnerable and insecure person. Satoshi caught Nino’s saddened expression few times, and his expression of love always succeeded to erase it away.
All that bratty manner is just a disguise, eh? Oh, how bad am I to not realize it sooner.

“That’s why I can’t fathom what would happen to him if you leave him. So, please, Satoshi kun, don’t leave him. Don’t leave him at least until he’s mature enough to get a hold of himself. I’m begging you,” Sho desperately pleaded. “He’s only 15 and madly in love with you so don’t hurt him.”

Jun grabbed Sho’s hand gently. He felt how strong Sho’s love to Nino is. Sho looked up and Jun gave his sweetest smile. Sho can’t help but smile too.

Satoshi nodded, “Of course. Of course.”

Nino walked out from Satoshi’s room, his hands running a towel through his hair and he was shirtless.

Satoshi hugged Nino’s body so tightly. He whispered, “I love you so much, Kazu. So much. You have to know that.”

“Eh? What happened?” Nino startled.

“I love you, that happened,” Satoshi kissed Nino’s top of the head and pushed him back inside the room, “now let me mark your milky soft skin with my love so people will know that you’re mine.”
And yes, by ‘people’, he meant Ninomiya Kazunari himself.

“OI!” Sho yelled. He was about to nag more to the couple when suddenly Jun hugged him from the back.

“It must be hard for you, Sho chan. Have to go through the same condition, keep though, and take care of Nino kun as well,” Jun said to Sho’s ear, “but you don’t have to keep strong in front of me. If you want to whine, if you want to be spoilt, do it with me. I don’t mind.”

“I.. I don’t..,” Sho tried to deny but he gave up immediately. He turned his body to face Jun and rested his head at Jun’s shoulder, “well.. yeah.. maybe I kind of tired some times.”

Jun caressed Sho’s head softly, “And stop blaming yourself for leaving him. You’ve quitted and got back to his side, so it’s okay.”

Sho nodded.
So young yet so mature. I’ve found a gem for myself.

“Now bust them and drag them back here. The pasta is getting cold,” Jun released Sho with a smile.

Sho dashed to Satoshi’s room, but he stopped his step, “Dear.. we should stay okay forever, okay? Because with our situation, if one of us break up, it will make a bad impact to the other couple. And really, I don’t think Kazu could afford that.”

Jun smiled, “Are you going to cheat on me, or stop loving me?”

Sho shook his head, “Hell, no!”

“Then we will be okay forever.”
Yeah, right....

Sho didn’t seem convinced, “Hei, Jun...”

“Yes?”

“Ah, no, never mind,” Sho smiled and got back on his mission.
You know that beside our fragile and pitiful side, me and Kazu also has dangerous side, right?

*******

“I’m not breaking up with you, Masaki!” the girl yelled her lungs out.

“You know I’m not in love with you from the very start, Aki chan.”

Yeah I know. It’s all for the sake of your beloved Jun chan.
“But Jun is still with that Sakurai Sho from the last time, right? So why are you breaking up with me, Masaki?!”
She only met Jun and Sho once, a year ago, but she could remember it clearly because Aiba kept blabbering about them in their fake dates.

“Because Sho nii san is living outside the town now, so I don’t need reason to avoid weekend activities anymore,” Aiba told her honestly, “I’m sorry Aki chan. You can find a much better man than me. You must.”

The quiet girl became berserk and cried unashamedly. She crushed. She was fine of being Aiba’s getaway and she expected many heart breaking event along with the fake relationship, but breaking up wasn’t in her expectation list.

“Besides, you are on your final year now, right? You must focus on study so you can pass the university exam,” Aiba threw any reason he could find. He sighed, “You are always a sister to me and not a girlfriend, Aki chan - ah or should I revert to call you Nee chan now?”

A daughter of his mom’s friend, Aki chan met Aiba every once in a while. They were pretty close despite the age gap - Aki chan were 4 years older than Aiba - and Aki chan fell in love with Aiba eventually. And desperately. But, Aiba’s heart was always filled up with Jun.

“I don’t care about my study! Please, Masaki, let me be your girlfriend for a little longer. You might fall in love with me then,” Aki chan pleaded with tears all over her face. “Moreover, you won’t end up with him, so why you must keep on around him?!”

“Because he must be lonely now. His brother and lover left him in the same time, Jun chan needs me to keep him from loneliness,” Aiba’s lips arched a faint smile.

Jun chan, Jun chan, always Jun chan. What on earth is he doing to my Masaki?! Why is he still capable on snatching my Masaki away from me?! Why?!
The girl just gathered her strength to reason more, but Aiba stopped her.

“Please, Nee chan. Let’s stop all this. I’m sorry that I hurt you,” Aiba bowed and left the girl alone.

Aki chan just looked at the direction where Aiba went. She was stunned that Aiba actually left her. She cried and cried, alone in a cozy café. She cried until her eyes went dry. She cried until she felt numb. She stood up with a renewed strength and fierce gaze.
The one that Jun chan loves the most is Sakurai Sho, eh?

Well, some people said that broken hearted woman could be the cruelest creature alive.
