Another one bites the dust.

I got a phone call about 1:45pm Saturday afternoon. That 's my sleeping time (like quarter to 2 in the morning for you day-shifters). I've learned that if I want to get sleep, I need to forget about about answering the phone during the afternoon when I'm asleep. So, I slept in until 8pm, since this was my night off. When I got up, I showered, then checked the answering machine. Turns out this call was from a realtor who wanted to show my condo. He noticed from the listing that I'm a "day sleeper", but he "wasn't sure if that applied to Saturday" (groan....yes, I sleep on the weekends, too). He went on to say that he wanted to show the condo between 4 and 4:30pm. For me, that's like calling in the middle of the night to ask if the condo can be shown a little later in the night. GRRR...By the time I got the message, it was way too late to be calling back. I returned the phone call about noon Sunday, and was told by the realtor that the showings were Saturday, and that the prospective buyers had made a decision already....Heavy sigh...I'm not sure what to do about this situation. On the one hand, I do want to show my condo to get it sold. On the other hand, I have to sleep sometime, and I don't want to encourage people to be calling in the afternoon (especially when I'm trying to sleep before getting up for work at 5:30pm). It's as much a matter of patient safety as convenience. I need a certain amount of sleep to function at my job. Not a huge amount, but more than answering phone calls in the afternoon would allow...
