It's been a while since I've allowed my self to get a new computer.  The two that I use are both running Windows 2000 and AMD single core processors - they're about 5 or 7 years old.  Ancient in computer terms.  The Better Half's computer is the same vintage but is running Windows XP.

Actually, Vista.  As in Microsoft's new Operating System (OS).  Vista also happens to be the word for 'chicken' or 'hen'  in Latvian.

We're updating a computer(1) at our house.  It happens to be the Better Half's (BH) computer.  It came with XP Home or Win2K, so I selected WinXP.  Some say it's better than 2K.

Right now I have the essentials configured - e-mail, browsing, printing, and camera software.  The built-in security is giving the BH and I headaches.  If you've seen the PC ( Read more... )
