How I Spent My Fall Vacation.

Oct 14, 2009 08:33

Like those essays that teachers made you write when you were back in school - How I Spent my Summer Vacation but done voluntarily about different season.  Though, come to think of it, I can't remember ever having to write such an essay in school.  Reports on summer reading books, yes.  How I spent my summer vacation - no.

Anyway, taking a week off from the computer support world (though I did correct an error condition on this, my brother's, computer).

Drove up to Chicago, spent a few days with my Mom and did a few manly chores around her house.  More specifically, chores that were suited to my skill set and not hers.  Then visited with (the main) part of my High school reunion committee.  Talked a bit about how plans are coming along and debated a few points, but mostly caught up on our lives.  And talked about the current economic condition, the state of the country, and where it is headed.  We're hoping that, against all odds, the country comes to its senses.

Now am in Kalamazoo (Michigan - in case you don't know the state) at my brother's place.  Helping him replace the roof on his garage.  Forecast is for possible sprinkles, but the weather man said they weren't likely.  The forecaster didn't know we were going to tear off the old roof today.  Which tremendously alters the probability of rain - sprinkles or otherwise.  Refer to Murphy for a detailed explanation.
