New Book Deal
Finished up Red October this morning. I went down and picked up a book by a retired Capt. looks interesting, it's about the Navy... go figure.
Last night was interesting. One of my buddies here who got busted down to Phase One (Mowry) just got back out of the phases of liberty system so offered to take me and Margiotta out for drinks. We did pretty good for such a limited budget. We of course went to the Shout House, there's just something about a place where you walk in and everyone passing by says hi and shakes your hand, then the wait staff fights over whose section you're going to sit in, then after getting settled having just about the entire staff come by and say hi (owners, pianists, waitresses, etc.). It's honestly like my own version of Cheers, and we gotta be the only real regulars in the place, it's cool shit.
Drank a little to much I guess and I ended up sleeping into morning duty muster. Not a good thing considering that it's only my third time in this duty section and my second duty day with the DSL, bad impression and all. Whatever I guess, sooner or later they all realize that my fuck-ups are just that fuck-ups, when it comes to everything else it's done properly and promtly... damn my mid-western work ethic.
Well looks like lib halls got Men in Tights playing, and I get a ring out to y'all regarding the travel plans.
