Indy street cred.
I honestly think that the only thing that I have going for my comic right now is image. I mean "my image". This Indy comics, do it yourself, out on a limb, self publishing guy. Don't get me wrong, I want people to read my book because they like it and are interested by what's going on with the story. Unfortunately thats not drawing people in. Its this romantic view of the artist. . . yadda yadda yadda. . . doing it for the love. . .yadda yadda yadda. . . underground comic genius.
Unfortunately, thats all a crock of shit. This week has been about serious rejection and running my ass off to get it. Most retailers are not enthusiastic about self-published comics. Most of the people that have read my comic don't read comics on a regular basis. People have said some terrible things. People have said some encouraging things. Its hard to know where you stand on eight pages.
Distribution is up. The comic, as of the end of this week, will be carried at Argo's Book Store, Magnum Opus, Vertigo Music, Tardy's Collectors Corner, and The Vault of Midnight. Not bad for one week of release.
