Random Bits and Pieces, on a cold December day

Dec 10, 2011 12:57

I had broccoli from the garden again this morning. This plant seems to like the cold.

Only 11 squirrels in the yard as I type. I counted 20 at one time last month.

Migraine today, ouch.

Next weekend is the annual Christmas bird count. I'm looking forward to meeting the gang and going out.

My dad doesn't read anymore because he can't remember what the plot is about. He eats constantly because he can't remember he already ate.

I took Mom to do a bunch of banking business on Wednesday, her birthday. She kept signing the date as 12-7-25, the year she was born. Everyone, including Mom, got a good laugh out of it. I think it was a good day for her.

We caught Rabbit in the bedroom the other day. She rarely ventures out of the computer room on the opposite side of the house when people are around, so we were pleased to note that she is doing some exploring while we're gone. She has made friends with Sarah, the dog, and Dom, our big, gray lug of a cat. Tyke is still unfriendly at times, and Erm still hisses at her. Rabbit is a fairly timid girl... she's bigger than Erm, and Erm is quite obviously terrified of her, so Rabbit could easily dominate her if she tried. But no. Rabbit is also still a little people shy. But, she seems fairly content, and she'll purr when I pet her, and I do believe she's in a better place than she was at Best Friends where she was sharing a small place with far too many other cats.
