I hate to hope for snow, but we need the moisture so bad, I am. Hoping for snow... *sighs*

OSU Extension offers a Master Gardener program. Hmmmm.

I did the Christmas Bird count in Mom's place this year, and I had such a good time. We only saw 50-60 species, but the ladies I went with made me feel so welcome and appreciated that I'm still feeling ( Read more... )

May moisture of some kind fall from the sky upon your fields.

Lovely that you did the bird count and went with your Mom. I'm sure that made her day. :-)

Yeah, Mom really enjoyed seeing everyone at the meeting. It has been quite a while since she'd been to one, so everyone was very happy to see her, too.

Oh, I'm glad to hear that. I'm sure it's probably the same program statewide.

Hey, my mom did the Master Gardener program at OSU when I was a kid- she loved it. I've decided one of my goals for the spring is to co-ordinate getting the two of you in the same place!

Awesome! Am I remembering correctly that she works for Keystone State Park? I will be there next weekend...

Yep! And she'll be there next weekend. If you're there on Saturday, she'll probably be out working in the park (she can't stand being inside too long, so prefers to be out clearing trails and trimming limbs)- they can call her on the walkie talkies (her name is Wendy Davis). If you're there on Sunday, she'll be in the office.

I could see you as a Master Gardener, too. If you lived here, I would drag you to class with me. :)

Honestly, I'm surprised that you're not already a Master Gardener. I just assumed that you were because you certainly know your way around a garden.

I'm glad you had a good time with your mom at the bird count and went to the Audubon meeting. Sounds like fun.

I'd never heard of the program before. Which is odd, all things considered. Just another sign that I'm on the right track with the whole gardening thing in my life, I think. Fateful serendipity or something like that.

It is *so* nice to have you posting again. I really missed you.
