I did the Christmas Bird count in Mom's place this year, and I had such a good time. We only saw 50-60 species, but the ladies I went with made me feel so welcome and appreciated that I'm still feeling good about it weeks later. So, last night, I went to the Payne County Audubon Society meeting with my mom. (She's one of the founding members.) Beautiful pictures of New Mexico birds taken mostly from the back deck of a cabin. It really made me wish for a better camera with a telephoto lens.
