Witch Hunts

Wednesday morning I sprang into action to write my surveys, send them to Kahara, have her print them, went to Film History discussion (which I always nod off during, without fail, regardless of how tired I feel beforehand. But then, the class feels so impersonal that I don't really like to talk in it too much...), and then she had them for me when I got back.
Earlier in the morning Mike came by to see if the surveys that he had Heidi and Kelly hand out on Tuesday were back yet. Somehow I ended up in possession of them. I was saying how with all the surveying we've been doing in the Union, and with all the exchanging going on, that we should just get In/Out trays installed on The Table. If only.
Back from discussion and at the front of the Terrace I stood by Brigette and Erich (fellow GDers) walked up and we had a talk about our obsessive surveying and planning and worrying. Rarely do we ever know exactly where we stand in that class, or with Kim (the teacher, claro que si) in general. Leigh and Kristin (even more GDers) were actually on the other end of the Table when I got there. Likely cuz they saw Dana, who was sitting with Jeremy (the only actual Table member there). Dana was fretting handing out her survey. I told her that she was a cute girl so she shouldn't have too many problems.
I circled the Terrace, handing out, making regular loops back to the Table. I got Dana to feel industrious and we went to the Library, but that only wielded a few surveys apiece. Oddly enough the people who go to the library look really busy while studying...
Back at the Terrace I took some of hers and delivered them as a whole to the people within. There was excitement cuz news came in that he Diversity Centers weren't going to lose their funding and get rolled into one big, yet bigly useless, all-inclusive Diversity Center. Which would kind of be an oxymoron. Or would it? Not sure.

In Art 309 Kahara and I spread out our info net amongst the other GDers present. Brandon and Katie didn't even have solid ideas at the time. So I felt at least a little bit ahead. But not really.
We had to split into groups of three for our first project. Kahara and I looked around the room. I saw everyone slowly form groups of three. Scanned around to see who was or wasn't talking to somone. I saw the one remaining person, a guy who we tried to talk to on the first day forced meet-and-greet. He snubbed us, cuz apparently he's really cool? We were just like ohmygod not that quasi homo loser bitch. Seriously. He just acts... I don't know. We wanted none of it, although we will have fun disecting his personality and sexuality. That bitch. Sigh. We did wait however until the teacher was like "is there anyone without a group?" till we acknowledged him and feigned ignorance of his being groupless.
Again: sigh.

We wanted food and we wanted it now. Or then. Whichever. With fast food closed and mere snacks out of the question, we decided that instead of spending four dollars on shitty leftover subs in the Terrace we would spend five getting real food in the Gasthaus. I told Mike to meet us there. Assorted surveys were filled out and tabulated. Ended the night with EMS, three computers in I finally got one that would print properly.

Presentation Day! Dressed pretty. Was off the chain, lookin' goo' too. Sort of. Mike was in a full business suite, and loving playing dress up. Kahara and I took pictures because he knew we knew he wanted it.
She didn't shit all over my idea like I feared. Just kinda. She offered up some hope and told me that I'm a better designer than just turning out a normal planner with a sassy cover. She thought I could really do something to be in tune with how people organize their lives.
Can I? I don't believe she believes in me, just believes in the idea of designers in general having the power to change things like that.
We'll see.

At the Table Jeremy was himself and Kahara swatted him and made him bleed. It was amazing.

In Web 2 we did like a five minute exercise and then had two hours to plan our redesign of www.csszengarden.com. We sifted through the examples on the site.

Jeremy was staying later for Pam, and Ashely was along for the ride. We found out about Anna Nicole Smith's death via text from assorted people. Checked it on perezhilton.com.
Josh from work came by to visit and was just in time for Ashley talking about vibrators and such. He told me at work over the weekend that he liked how open and interesting my friends were. But wanted to meet Ben and Nate cuz I talk about them so much. lol.

Ashley and I decided there would be Coldstone, but first we would do blogging homework in the Union computer lab. This entailed us finding out that one of our blog classmates has nudey pics online. And finding www.annanicolesmithdies.com. Oh lord. The midi of All By Myself really sold it.
Ashley's parents are absurd so she ended up having to go home so her dad could have the car in the garage by ten. ...Don't ask.

Kyle picked me up from outside EMS and we went to Coldstone so he could watch me eat ice cream while I grilled him about his breakup with Matt.

Eh... Friday was so packed that I think I'll just leave the details for when the Facebook album goes online like three years from now. :p
