Today one of the girls that I counsel handed me a note out of the blue. Usually these notes are like "I want to die" or are about something that's bothering them. It was folded in a heart, and I had to question the "appropriateness" of the content as it would be weird to get a love note from a teenage girl. I opened it anyway, and was delighted to find a letter of appreciation. I was so touched by it and made me feel good about doing my job.
She wrote:
Always amazing and helpful.
As fun, funny, true as you can.
Put down with confidence with what's right to you!
Plus a joy to be around with you working on the floor.
As you are loyal and you need no crown, as you are confident.
You are one in a zillion, just for all you do.
Most amazing in my book of records.
As I would, when I grow up just like you.
The grammar is a bit off and doesn't make complete sense, but a lot of the teens I work with can't spell or write properly anyway. I hope she doesn't develop a crush on me. Jesus. hahah
