Lucky the cat was lucky this time.
The huge mass in his abdomen, originally thought to be a tumor, was shown to be some sort of foreign object obstruction in the upper G.I. after the barium series of Xrays done yesterday.
Last night he went under emergency exploratory surgery to get at the object and pull it out.
They pulled out a massive hairball about the size of my fist (4in diameter, length a bit more). Tangled in with the hair ball were roundworms averaging 6 inches in length. They had to do some extensive cutting to get the hairball-roundworm mass out so he's got some serious recovery time ahead of him. But! He lives!
He lives, and he's a sweet little boy (who was also neutered during the surgery last night), up to date on all of his shots, and will soon be in good health. Hopefully he finds a good home soon.
In other news? I'm tired.
That's about all.
