Potrero war was a lot of fun. There was low drama, the weather was the best for a September in recent memory (going back to '95 or so), and a good time was had by all.
On my way into Potrero my odometer tripped 100000. I've had that car 8 years and 100k miles now. Damn. On my way down the hill, I looked down and saw "100011" and thought, "When did my car switch to binary?"
The scotch eggs were a hit as usual. I'm thinking of switching to a dutch oven next time for frying, though, so I can prepare more at a time. If
batty1of3 wants to do Mario's Ye Olde Taco Shoppe for lunch/dinner, I can do a Ducky's Ye Olde Morning Gut Grenades.
I intend before next war to make a new tent (yay Home Depot canvas painter's tarps!) and bed, as well as a case of at least pomegranate mead. I think another batch of Pumpkin Pie Mead is in order, however.
I do hope
the Barony figures out if we're keeping September war or not so I can start making plans to (finally) make it to
Burning Man (uh, or not). SCA gear is fun to construct, what with the period authenticity look as a guiding principle (though I'm still at a loss as to how to justify solar powered pavilion ceiling fans), but paring that to utility and art alone could make for some interesting construction shenanigans.
