January was especially kind to me in the Irish pub song department. For almost the entire month I got to see a Tony Cummins show Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. First Tom Giblin's then weekends at the Harp in Ocean Beach.

Last Saturday I was "treated" to Harold's Renegade Band as Tony had a private performance or some such. Harold was more caustic ( Read more... )

heh. This town is full of these intertwining social circles. =D perky_goth apparently knows Patric from belly dancing. Harold used to be part of Skelpin before kicking him out (he actually named the band). shadowsof_orion discovered his aunt or something was listening to Tony back in the 80s. And I ran into an ex-girlfriend of Harold's last guitar player while at Giblins last month.

This 6-degrees thing used to weird me out (actually it seems like only 2 or 3 degrees), but now I get weirded out when there *isn't* some connection. ^_^

Yeah, Aunt. Randomly saw a cassette tape one time when I was helping her move some stuff around. Got a laugh out of it.

As of January 1st, he sold the place. He still has O'Sullivan's and the place up in Fallbrook that I've never been to and can't remember the name.

I think I told you about the time I ran into someone at the Blarney Stone who said he knows someone who worked at Qualcomm and it was he who said, "Ah, but it's a big place, what are the chances of you knowing him." It was Whitson. =D
