Dear Mother and Father,

I am writing to you both right now because I’m deeply concerned about the actions that may take place in the near future. My first concern is the battle for custody.

Now, as you both may realize after reading this letter, I object in every way to this. I feel it will be putting all three of us through trials we don’t need to go through. First off, is the money issue. Though one of you may have easy access to the resources to pay the attorney, the other unfortunately doesn’t. So I find it rather unfair to go into this thing when one is more capable than the other. Next is the fact that I will only be living at the current residence until my 18th birthday, when I will already have a flight booked to Arizona within the few days after. So to utilize those oh so necessary sources of income on legal matters would be a waste.

With that covered, I move onto my next concern. Now if the one does not go through with the custody process, than the other cannot choose; to demand such things as child support; where I reside.

Now I believe these terms are quite reasonable, and no doubt would save a lot of trouble. Now what you both need to believe is that if these things are not agreed to, than the individual who does not agree, will suffer the extreme extent of my discontent. Though this letter may be devoid of emotions, know that this is what you forced me to do, and who you brought me up to be.

Your son,
            Mike
