I got to talk to one of my favorite people last night & that was good.  Hopefully we'll be making a habit of it.

I'm all moved into my new apartment & just spent about $3000 on a bedroom set & a new table, but they aren't being delivered for a few weeks.  I'm treating it like I do everything else I buy- forgetting for the most part that I bought it & being surprised when it gets here.

My roommate is having trouble obtaining & maintaining employment.  I'm trying to be patient, but I don't think he grasps the gravity of the situation and is not treating it nearly as seriously as I would be if I was relying completely on someone else for my existence and that really frustrates me.  Equally frustrating is the fact that he feels like a failure because he's not able to gain employment at places that require far less education than he has (eg Best Buy & Circuit City).  And I feel trapped because I feel like I can't do anything with my money because I have to be prepared if he can't make rent etc and I have to shell out $1000 (instead of $500) for rent, utilities, electricity & cable.  So yeah, I got a raise & now I'm more broke than I was before my raise.

Over the weekend, Dan & I moved and since our friends didn't show up until 7 fucking hours after they said they would, we assumed that they wouldn't be showing up and tried to start getting the bigger things into our apartment since we wouldn't be receiving any help.  Turns out that they did show up, thankfully, but Dan & I had carried so much stuff on our own that my back was really stiff & sore even 4 days later.  So when I was packing my desk at work Tuesday morning, (we're getting our room painted), I bent over to put a piece of paper in a box and my lower back said... well, "no."  So for the rest of the day I tried to work it out, but it didn't feel like it was a sore muscle, it felt like it was something serious.  So long story short, today I'm on muscle relaxers, vicadin and an anti-inflammatory that has a side effect of heart attacks & sudden death or some such craziness.  I was high as a kite this morning & couldn't hold a thought.  Back feels much better tho.  I went into work, about 10 mins late, and left about an hour later.  Came back home & slept til 1pm.  Hopefully I'll be good as new by Monday so I can try some racquetball & my new advanced weight training class.
