just passing by....

Well, things keep slowly moving on. I've now had my P45 and been paid up. Means the plastic is clear now for the first time in ages. Still have some spare but I need to live off that until I can get something sorted, which brings me onto the next subject.

Last Wednesday (21st) I had an interview. Was in there for an hour and 45. Said ay the end he'd like me to come back in for a 30 minute chat with his techie next week. Got an email late on Wednesday, can I go in yesterday or today. Arranged for yesterday. That to ran to 1 hour 45. It went well.

Like last time, he hasnt bullshitted me, as he said he had 2 more people to see last week, and he said he did have someone to see yesterday afternoon after me. Hoped that he and his techie could discuss it today, and hopefuly let me know on Monday.

I think unless it was a blinder in the afternoon, the job is mine, but we'll have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

Done a few lil cash jobs, so have a couple of quid, which went towards the leccy and rent.

Been cracking on with the downstairs bog. Had 2 good days at it. Apart from the frame behind the door (which I need to take off,) strip and sand, its ready for paint.

The walls have been an absolute sod to get anything like, but i am about there now. Skirting is all sanded aswell.

Apart from the bit of the door frame which will only take me an hour, I need to flat off the surface of the pipe to the cistern as it runs across the middle of the wall. If it wasnt for the fact that its 1960/1970's plastic shit that you can get the fittings for etc I'd have re-routed it alot more tidily. The pipework that goes up the wall needs either boxing in, which wont be a difficult task or if I can get some trunking to cover it, that would be easier as I can't move the pipes without doing alot of damage to the wall to prep it behind.

Last weekend I went to see Vicki. Didnt do much as I have to watch the pennies, but it was nice to have a change of scenary aswell. Stopped to pick up her dads computer on my way back to fix that, which I must get on with this weekend. Think the display card has let go.

Tomorrow, I've got to put a headlight buld into my old dears Mk IV Fiesta. Easy you might say. Well its a total ball ache.

You can left the cover up off the back of the light unit, but only by about 1/2 an inch. And thats it. The slam panel is in the way. Appears you have to take the grille off and drop the light unit out to get access to swap the poxy thing, in much the same way as the focus Diesel. Makes carrying a spare buld set in the likes of France a load of bollocks if you can't change it without ripping half the car apart. One VW owners handbook says "conult your dealer". I'm sorry. Its a fucking bulb. Jebus.

Also, I seem to have managed to get my old man to start and do a few odd things. Not much, but just a couple. Its a start.

Tomorrow, if he's about in time I need to have a trip down to the tip. I've been taking the crap out and stuffing it in the back of the car every day I've been going out. The boot is now full but I need a hand to get the old boiler case in and out. The weight isnt a problem, just thats its very unweildly to lift in and out without damagiug yourself or the car.

Apart from that, it's finish the last of the door frame prep, tidy up the pipe surface and sort the box out. I'll make one if I have to but just another bit of a pain and 'll take longer.

Right, I think I'm gonna listen to ch00ns, and burn another pile of DVD's off as I need the disk space :)
