Still Kicking Around, Up To Same Old Tricks

Yes. Not much changes. I'm still a crafting fool. Having just finished a beret, mittens, and a long circle scarf for my friend, Sheryl, I am now back to working on an afghan for another friend, and former neighbor who went into a nursing home a few months ago. Another neighbor and I are working on this project together. Then, another neighbor and I are going to have a weekly lunch/crafting gathering each Wednesday with participants bringing a dish to pass salad of some kind, and whatever crafts
projects they are currently working on. That will start next Wednesday.

Also, I'm writing a monthly article on indoor gardening for our in-house newsletter, and yet another neighbor and I are going to be working on assembling a directory for and by the residents of this building listing skills, talents, and services that they will provide to the community at large. Speaking of which, today my neighbor and friend who is a retired hairdresser, cut and colored my hair for a nominal fee. Since the word has gotten out, his skills have been in big demand here, and he's excellent. It's really nice for us, many of whom are in wheelchairs and otherwise might not be able to get out to the beauty parlor regularly.

The family is doing well. Brixton just turned three years old in August, and is attending pre-school. Bea and a friend are busy getting a business off the ground, and Guav is just plain busy. My sister, Natalie, is super enjoying motherhood, and my little niece, Rosalie, will turn 1 year old right after Thanksgiving.

As the kids say, it's all good! Hope everything is going well in your lives as well.

home sweet home
