Well, it's been a very lovely Sunday, discounting downtime from a tummy ache. I spent a good portion of the day watching Oprah's Sunday show on her network; Super Soul Sunday. I really enjoy her guests and her discussions about all things spiritual. Today she had one show with Deepak Chopra, and the second one was with Tony Robbins. Typically I am not one to read lot of books on the subject, as many of my friends have done, but I do want to start expanding my personal library a bit more on the subject. I have Marianne Williamson's A RETURN TO LOVE already, and love that, and I also have another book of hers which I can't remember the name of at the moment. I have a couple of more books as well, but I want to actively start expanding my collection. I am attracted to Deepak Chopra, and Iyanla Van Sant, and am very fond of Archbishop Desmond Tutu as well. I am going to start with them. I find this so much more meaningful to me personally than a church type experience which I feel limiting in so many ways, dogma based as it is. Love Jesus, not so much organized religion.
My dear son and his little family just were here visiting and as usual, they spread a little sunshine by just being here. Brixton is interested in everything, and is very taken with all things natural: bugs, leaves, plants, seashells, rocks, etc. I let him look at my extensive collection of semi-precious beads and gems, and gave him his own little collection in a little brass box with a clasp. I shared some books with Justin and Bea. Been reading a lot lately, and am just lovin' on the books.
After a short hiatus, I am suddenly back up to my neck in pending future creative projects. Anyone who knows me, knows that is just how I like it. Got some sewing and crocheting projects on the horizon. Bea would like me to make her a crocheted throw for their living room, and I already have the yarn ordered. Another book is due to arrive this week on the art of fabric origami, so I am very psyched. Bring it on!
Time for supper. Think I'll make some shrimp fried rice from scratch. Night all!
