Despite the tragedy of my darling Freddy's demise earlier this week, the weekend didn't go too badly. Slowly I'm getting over Freddy's absence. I sat outside with Poco, The Amazing Singing Dog, Sadie Rose,( The Diva), and Maxie,( The Scaredy Cat), for an hour or so this afternoon. The sun was warm, and it was pleasant sitting oudoors and surveying the landscape. The lilac bush across the drive has buds on it, and the trees on yonder hills are looking faintly green. At the far end of the field across the road, I spied a doe and what looked to be twin fawns. By the time I had returned with my binocs, they had dissolved back into the woods.
Sadie Rose, ever playful and inquisitive, managed to find something that intrigued her across the driveway from where I sat with Poco. I do believe Ms. Kitty may just have discovered a patch of catnip, going by her actions. This is good. I intended to plant some anyway, and now I won't have to.
Earlier, Sandy had stopped by for a visit and admired my almost finished living room and guestroom. This morning I swept the floors and laid the two new area rugs I had gotten. The rooms really do loook nice and cozy now. I am impressed with how nice, open, and airy my living room looks. The loveseat I made from an old porch glider looks so nice and inviting with all the slipcovered cushions I sewed up this week. I am very fond of the light green, periwinkle, roses and reds palette of the room. Very English Country/shabby chic. For once, I think I have hit my marks, decorating- wise.
After the laying of rugs, I took a nice shower and washed my hair, taking the time to mousse and style it. I'm all set for tomorrow when I'll probably go to the club.
Hurricane Annette just breezed in and out, bringing the usual plethora of goodies, and leaving boxes and bags in her wake. Now I remember why I was able to get my L.R. together this past week. Haha! Annette was without wheels for almost three weeks or more, and thus didn't bury me in more stuff! The woman is a trip!
So, actually got a good bit done today. Feeling good going into the new week. Think I'll watch a movie and turn in early. Ta ta! Have a good week all.
