The Good Just Keeps On A Comin'!

Wowsers! My planets must be lined up just right this week, or sumthin.' Y'all are not gonna believe this: I will prolly be getting a Fax machine through a sister program to the one that provides the funding for Corlin to be my personal care aid. I didn't even ask for it! The young woman who came to see me today for updating her info on me and my needs, offered it! She also supplied me with a wish list of things I might want/need to make my life easier and help to promote my independence and mobility. I might even be able to get a ramp through their program, and a grab bar and seat for the bathtub. Cool, eh?

You guys......the gal was coming at 10 A.M., so I rousted myself at 6 A.M. and tackled the feeding of my menagerie and self, the dishes, the kitchen in general, and I swept and wet mopped the LR and bathroom floors, and cleaned the toilet and sink. When you're hot, you're hot! Tracey was already here when Corly arrived. Corlin talked to the lady about the program that Tracey is involved in, and is going to submit her resume.

Last night: Corlin was supposed to come back and help me get the washer/dryer moved inside so the pump wouldn't freeze. When it became clear that she wasn't gonna show, I made space for the pair in my bathroom, and dragged the suckers in here myself! This is Scorpio determination at its best.

But, dear friends, the very best news? Dad is home and is getting a new aid. She came by today for them to get acquainted, and I introduced myself to her on the phone and chatted a bit. She sounds VERY nice, and Dad's all excited and happy. He sounded so damned chipper, I wanted badly to just wheel myself downstate and cover hin in hugs and kisses! We talked no fewer than three times today. The last call, which came as I was preparing dinner, was him bragging that he walked 4 times around his apartment with his walker. Sounds like he's finally making his peace with, and adjustment to old age. I encourage him with my similar experiences, and upbeat attitude. I think that seeing Guav and Bea this weekend did wonders for Dad. They're SUCH dear people, and he really enjoys their company. Bea's very sweet to him. Dad loves her. He's mentioned their visit everyday since he saw them. Of course, his big thing now is waiting for Great Grandkids! Just might keep the old coot going! HAhahahaha!

I still want to do the greeting card campaign, but want to wait until his aid, MIcki, is established. So, yeah. Life is good! Happy weekend all!
I'm definitely feeling the love!

friends, home, family
