my anger, let me show you it.

NOTE: I don't even use this journal anymore, but I'm resurrecting it for a moment just so I can officially say I've x-posted this everywhere I can, because I'm just that ticked off. (Hopefully it's not too error-ridden, haha.)

This is getting ridiculous.

If you live in the Lexington, KY area (or ever plan to), read on.

My husband and I decided to go for Windstream for our television/phone/internet services simply because we personally prefer satellite and dsl to cable from past experience. I'm really glad in hindsight that we chose not to go with Insight Communications because we have since learned how underhanded and dishonest at least some of their workers can be with trying to convince people to switch to their services.

Last Monday, a man from Insight came to our door, asking my husband if we were interested in switching to Insight. He politely declined. The guy said "So you have dish?" and J.D. said "Yes, and we've been happy with it." The guy repeats this again - "You have dish? You have dish?" And J.D.'s getting annoyed but says "yeah, and we're happy with it" again and the guy leaves. RIGHT AFTER THIS, our satellite mysteriously doesn't work. We called someone in from Windstream to look at it, and he finds that not only is the cable box now locked and he has to cut through it to check our hookups, but that everything in our section was rearranged wrong, and it looked as though the guy had even tried to connect us *to* Insight. He said it's sad how common this is.

So, our satellite was fixed on Wednesday, everything's fine, till today. Now it's out again, with the same error message, and we have to have someone come out and fix it AGAIN Tuesday. Insight has already heard from me on this, and if I find out that they've messed with it again, they're going to hear a lot more from me. I'm really tired of them harassing us AND our service technicians (the very DAY our satellite was installed, an Insight worker drove up and started heckling the Windstream worker and even attempted to lock him out of his vehicle when he entered our house - the guy was lucky he had his keys on him.)

Basically, Insight has yet to prove to me that they are anything but childish, and they sure don't know how to make someone actually want their business. I don't care how many times they mess up my dish, I refuse to switch to cable because I refuse to give that company my hard-earned money just so they can mess with others. I would seriously stick to the five stations I can pick up without cable or satellite first.

If you live in Lexington and use Insight, you might want to ask around about their practices, and if you use Windstream, be sure you don't let any Insight workers out of your sight on your property.
