...I know. But they're not generally the sort to give fair warning, and let me choose time and place-- except in that fight against Envy, I was forced to, because the Colonel had made him angry, and Winry was in danger. And it had to be just the two of us, but one alchemist and a sharpshooter versus two homunculi isn't fair under any circumstances.
It certainly has a flair for the dramatic at least.

It's hardly ever fair in such circumstances. If they're going to pose a danger to the city, then perhaps a counterstrike under more beneficial circumstances?
Greed...was from my version of Amestris. Those tips wouldn't work on Envy- he's from the other version, and the homunculi there are a little different.

The last fight was in the City. Envy's still here. It's a valid concern.

. . . you know, if you need back-up, we're all here for you.

I don't know whether the danger they pose is to the City at large or me specifically, because I come from that world.
And the problem with Envy is that he's a shapeshifter, and shooting at him does nothing. He regenerates.

Well, you are part of the city.
Ah, like the Box Serial Killer, which was very... troublesome. Although Greed was giving out tips about dealing with homunculi at one point.

...I have a hard time accepting that, these days.

But still true for all of us, as much as some of us might like it to be otherwise.
Ah... that's a shame. So I take it dropping a mountain on Envy like that girl did to Greed won't work then?

I... don't want to drag other people into messes they have no precedent for, if I can help it. I'd rather keep things calm.
...Dropping a mountain on him might keep him in one place for a while, but it wouldn't kill him.

That's understandable. But it's something to keep in mind if it comes to it. After all, we're all stuck in here together.
That's pretty much how it worked with Greed too. Then we had to semi-dig him out to bring him to trial.

I know. I'm not insane enough to try taking him on by myself if I can help it, if that's what you're worried about.
...I would not want to be the person digging Envy out.

All right, just so long as you know that the rest of the force is here for you if it ever comes to going up against Envy.
. . . I don't think anyone would 'envy' that particular task.

I do.
...That was a terrible joke, Riou, I hope you're ashamed of yourself.
