New plot

We're going to play Cluedo (which according to the linked Wikipedia article is called Clue in America and has all sorts of other differences here - I've gone with the version I played as a child). Obviously it makes it a slightly manufactured murder mystery as there are only six weapons and rooms they could have done the deed in. Your character may recognise it as the game (or feel free to make up an equivalent if they're not from Earth/the right time on Earth), which they can do if they like.

How it's going to work is, I will randomly choose one suspect, location and weapon. Then you pick something/someone to investigate just as in a normal murder mystery. Choose one or both (or all) people in the thread to know the result of what they investigate, email or PM me and I'll tell you. So for example, if you're talking to Colonel Mustard I'll tell you whether he did it or not, or if you're doing forensics on the candlestick I'll tell you whether it's used or not.

In the main comm I've put up a 'whiteboard' post for keeping track of all this information. This is what will appear in the console room when you press the white button. When you've found out some information, write it up there. If any threads look like they're holding the rest up, then please put the information up and carry on the thread.

Obviously your character doesn't have to try and work out whodunnit if they don't want to. And there's nothing to stop them mucking up the evidence and/or fitting someone up.

Although I know whodunnit, it's up to you to work out why. Feel free to make up as many details as you like, and hopefully once we get close to the solution we'll be able to work something out. I'll keep doing the posts in the OOC comm with what's going on, along with the whiteboard comments. And hopefully it'll work...

Just because this plot is starting doesn't mean you can't finish the Ballarat one. It's up to you whether to continue that plot and ignore this one, or start on this one and assume it happens after the Ballarat one.
