First - Happy Mum's Day to all the mummies in the world ^_~
Second - and the main idea of this entry - I love books, so I was compiling my booklist for this summer. Here's what I came up with:
1. Mary called Magdalene - started, it's freakin' awesome!
2. The Da Vinci Code - borrowed from a friend, appeals to my own notions of how Christianity has been handled.
3. The Red Tent - recommended by a classmate ^_~ Do you see a theme here?
4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - No, I STILL haven't read it >-<
5. Our Bodies, Ourselves - A huge HUGE book on women's health issues.
6. Miscellaneous feminist anthologies - Cuz I'm interested in my foremothers' struggles.
7. The Bible
Also, I was looking for my dad's Mother's Day gift to my mom when I found some of my old romance novels XD! One in particular caught my interest again, and I think that I will reread it sometime soon - A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught - but ya know how sometimes you'll come across a book (particularly romance) and it will have these supporting characters that just kind of steal the entire story????? That's I view Brenna and Stefan ;-; I want a separate book for them! It's like, in the beginning, Stefan kidnaps Brenna and Jenny (it doesn't take long for him to become possessive of Brenna either O.O) and then there's like maybe four or five references to them throughout the book and then suddenly BAM! They're in love O.O I WANT THE BACK STORY DAMN IT!
*huffs*
I also want to get around to reading Confessions of an Ugly Step-Sister, Wicked, The Rivan Codex (which I've owned for YEARS!), more Dave Barry books, and The First Sex.
Then there's the Egyptian research I need to compile, and some further researching on Egyptian WOMEN in particular ;-;
So many books! So little time!
BUT FIRST! I need to get through finals. Excuse me while I go immerse myself in J. Christopher Herold's The Age of Napoleon once more.
