Je suis tres, tres contente! AKA THIS WEEKEND ROCKED!
Dude, best weekend EVAH!!!!!!!!!
Why?
Because:
1. family time - I even got to see my Uncle Marty, Aunt Faye, cousins Nick and Michelle, Nick's daughter Kallee and wife Kristy, and Michelle's husband Sam. Mom, Dad, and I watched Spiderman 2 and Shrek 2 (both of which I'd already seen BWAHA).
2. Mum made my favorite dish - beef stew with mashed potatoes ;-; Love you, Mummy! And Daddy fried some speckled trout. Love you, Daddy!
3. Matthew was actually rather good humored for once. Love you, T-Matt!!!!!!!!
4. Got my grades -----> Ancient Near East = A, Prosem in American History = B, Prosem in European History = A, and Southern Womanhood in Literature = A. That means that since I've begun grad school, I have all As and 1 B ;-; These professors keep pitying me. I wish they'd be more honest. I'm not that great a scholar but . . . my average loves them. Really it does *sniffles*
5. E-mail from MomijiHime!!!!!!!!! She changed her email a while back, so everytime I tried e-mailing her, it would "Return to Sender." After a bit, I gave up and prayed she'd write me, and she finally did! I'm thinking this is an early Christmas present!
6. Started reading God: A Biography, and - because I'm nitpicky - I did some research on the guy who wrote it, to make sure he isn't a hack. He's an ex-Jesuit, pursued religious studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University as well as the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and holds a doctorate in Near Eastern languages. So, I'm pretty sure he's not a hack - which is a relief. Whether I agree with him or not remains to be seen, but it's definitely interesting so far. He's relying on religious texts only - which is cool. I'm loving this book. Next, I'm rereading the Harry Potter series! (I still haven't read book five ARGH).
7. When I got back to the apartment, Shayla and Michael had a Christmas tree up and decorated and they bought me a stocking (which is hanging from my door knob) with my name on it ;-; Much love to Shayla and Michael. Really.
8. Talked to Tressa and though she bitched most of the time about Bryan and how stupid he's being lately, she wasn't crying. Thank God for small miracles.
9. Completed my perusal of the New Orleans Archives index for Women's studies, now I just have to print out the list of collections I'm interested in and actually go start looking through them. I'll start doing that tomorrow.
10. Didn't go to the gynecologist ;-; which is good as well as bad. I rescheduled for the 30th. So now I have an eye appointment on the 22nd, I'm going get my spur taken care of on the 27th, and then the Papsmear will be done on the 30th. *small voice* Help!
11. The laundry is DONE! My apartment is CLEAN!
12. Four wishlist items are complete!
In sum, this weekend totally rocked. Now I just have to gear up for my first week of archival research. WHEEEEE!
