A Library in Kentucky | Friday Evening
Stake outs were never comfortable. Especially not when it had started pouring rain and they'd been forced to take shelter in the tiny public library across the street from Donovan's piercing pagoda storefront.
Dimitri was having a difficult time staying out of his own thoughts and focusing at the task at hand. He'd made contact through Jessi again, acting like he was still Strigoi and screaming threats that left him feeling hollow and dirty. With each pretend conversation, the nightmares seemed to get worse instead of better.
Meanwhile Rose seemed to be...well, Rose. At the very least, her presence kept Dimitri from going too far into his own memories, if not fully capable of hiding how much he was bothered as they took not of the comings and goings across the street. At least they had managed to sneak donuts past the librarian. Sometimes Dimitri's big coat proved more useful than hot.
