last week was orientation, so that's really why i haven't posted sooner. it went well, made a good chunk of overtime and got a cold. thanks freshmen! it was a crazy week, and i was driving a rental car the whole time and dealing with insurance agents. never get your car injured over labor day.
last weekend while i was orienting, jay went to the panthers/atlanta game in charlotte. he had a good time, but i was lonely. it's okay cause i was sick and sleeping anytime i was at the house.
this week has been a blur. classes started wednesday and we've had welcome week events all week that have been keeping me pretty busy as well. i'm feeling a lot better though. i wake up each morning with about a gallon of junk in my sinuses and throat, so it takes a bit of effort to get all that out.
got my car out of the shop on friday, thank god! the rental car ended up costing almost $700, but they promise i'll be reimbursed. i hope to god so!
we had company this weekend! justus, ashten, jessie and ashlyn all came down to celebrate justus' birthday on friday. it was also the six month anniversary of kevin, arch, griff and shope's death, so they really didn't want to be in banner elk for it. we went nuts friday night at molly mcpherson's and the caldonian (cootenannie's) and didn't get up until around noon yesterday. the girls and i went shopping downtown while jay and stus went to the habersham beverage warehouse and other boy places.
last night there was a free sister hazel concert in the park to close out scad's welcome week, so we went to that. i was officially working it, but it was a lot of fun to just chill and listen to good free music. it makes me miss my friends a lot, though. they're so far!
this morning we went to clary's for breakfast and then they got on the road to head home. jay went art supply shopping and i did four loads of laundry :-). we made some chicken and ate and just stayed low. it's been a busy couple of weeks and the next two months are going to be nuts. we'll be out of town a lot but we're looking forward to it all... for the most part. at least gas is getting lower.
so the school year is off to another start, my niece's fifth birthday would have been this coming friday, i'm a little apprehensive about it, but what do you do? it's been over a year now, and i'm managing not to think about it as much which kinda scares me.
buy some avon from me!
