Writers: Go Read This and Engrave It On Your Forehead

Feb 26, 2009 14:21

David Farland said this today in his "David Farland's Kick in the Pants" email post:

"In any case, today I have a link to an article by literary agent Janet Reid.  Janet handles mysteries, thrillers, and some memoirs.  She reminds us that even agents sometimes make mistakes. http://jetreidliterary.blogspot.com/2009/02/1399-tax.html"

Go read that post and remember it. I know I will.

Edit: I had two take-aways from that post. 1) Janet's main point that agents can make mistakes and our stories just need to find the right agent/editor/reader. 2) The writer seemed to have handled meeting her in a professional manner. This is a pretty critical point I think.

I'm adding it to my library of "About Writing" files.

Thanks to Janet Reid for sharing that, and to David for the link!

Have a great day!
