Being one who can't stand prequels. I am extremely happy with the new trek movie. If you have decided not to see it as I almost did because you are tired of them "re-writing the history of the future AGAIN!" I gladly can say they aren't. This restarts the series all over again in a parallel reality. They can from this point make more films in ( Read more... )

I think the Kelvin was a modified Saladin or Hermes class. :) I actually THOUGHT it was a Saladin class when I watched it (those are supposed to be heavy cruisers, it would make sense) but then when I looked it up to double check, I was off.

The movie was definitely AWESOME---
Everytime the ships were under attack i kept thinking
of those pics of you and your parents on the replica of the deck they had in Vegas. :-)

My heart swelled with geek pride too at just how well done they movie was; truly- they surpassed many expectations.

Miss You!!!

i was surprised at Zachary Quinto's performance. While i think he was a spot on cast as far as looks go, i was so worried that when he was on screen i would only think 'Sylar' and not be able to get past it (a feeling maybe quelled by the mindwarp of seeing Wynona Ryder as Spock's Mom?) but the movie and acting was SO GOOD that it never occurred or ruined the movie.

Gods alive it made me miss Shore Leave tho- and weekends up on Highview terrace, watching old sci-fi and laughin.

Yeah, but the "emotionally compromised" Spock would have been much cooler with Sylar's powers!!!

Honestly, I can't wait to see what Abrams does next. If Paramount lets him walk the Board of Directors should be SHOT (aka fired on the spot).

hahaha, i am sure that there will be fans/geeks out there who create cross-over spliced videos of Spock/Sylar as clips of the movie escape onto the net, and much hilarity to ensue ( ... )
