There is a megachurch in Illinois called Willow Creek which holds a leadership summit every year. This thing is a pretty big deal because it is streamed live to evangelical churches all around the country and thousands of people participate. It draws some pretty big names to speak. Past speakers have included Bono and Bill Clinton.

This year, one of the speakers was going to be Howard Schultz, the founder and CEO of Starbucks. However, an online petition was started asking Schultz not to attend because of Willow Creek's anti-gay views. Well, Schultz ended up not speaking at the event although it isn't clear if the petition actually had anything to do with it, and Willow Creek wants you to know that they aren't anti-gay because they have gay friends have gay people who attend the church. To be fair, the minister talking was pretty nice about it, and encourages people to continue buying Starbucks coffee and to read Schultz's book.

Another post on this can be found here and includes more about Willow Creek's stance on homosexuality.
