Federal judge: DOMA unconstitutional
A federal judge in Massachusetts has ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. A ruling from another federal judge in California (regarding Prop 8) is expected soon.
Either way, both rulings will be appealed. And they're in different circuits (California is in the 9th Circuit, which is known for being very liberal...I'm not sure about Massachusetts), so there's a considerable possibility that either both circuits will rule in favor of marriage equality, or they'll split the decision which will essentially force the Supreme Court to make a decision.
This could be a start of something very, very big.
