Twice now in two weeks, iTunes has forgotten I have music or playlists. I have no clue why, since I haven't updated, plugged in my iPod, or anything else. Anyone got any idea what the frell might be going on? My Google-fu is failing me on this one. No, restoring to a previous version of iTunes isn't fixing it. Yes, I'll export my playlists to the desktop if I have to recreate them, but meanwhile, this is getting really frustrating.
ETA: Okay. Something is logging me out of iTunes; once I sign in, it finds my music again -- if it was downloaded from iTunes. The playlists seem to have gone the way of the dodo. So has the library on my computer in the iTunes folder. I can add it again -- one file at a time. 17 Gb of music? Don't think so. I have words for this, but they're not suitable for print.
ETFA: I now have iTunes 10.7 re-installed after much cursing and several tutorials. I have lost all playlists and will have to redo them. ::sighs:: Oh, well. I'm batting, um, .667? I got it reinstalled properly (which took a
five minute video) and I have my library fully loaded again. But no playlists. Things like this lead to rage-quit. I'm just saying.
Help? Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and/or moral support!
