Some notes on Duncan, so I don't lose them again

Dec 30, 2007 21:07

Once, years ago, I went through and counted up all the heads Duncan took, friends whose deaths were reported, lovers dead, etc, during the five and a half years covered by HL:the series. (I didn't count the Raven's stats in this.) I'm posting the numbers behind a cut-tag, to save my friends' lists, but here so that I won't lose the damn list again!

5 lovers or former lovers died on him over the 66 months, and that's the ones that are admitted to in canon. (I.e., no, Brian Cullen is not on this list.)

54 enemies, mortal and immortal that *Duncan* killed. (This doesn't count ones that Methos or Rich killed for him, although Kristin is under the lovers list.)

8 former friends that he killed or had to kill.

14 immortal friends' deaths reported to him.

58 heads that Duncan took. In 5.5 years.

ETA: Those numbers are for the time the series covered.

As I was going through to get this data, somewhere along the way, I started tracking Duncan's students, as well -- I know I missed at least two, and that's been updated.

Over Duncan's lifetime, I also counted five seven students of his that I'm sure of, one two! of whom survived, two of whom went bad and he had to kill himself, one he killed by accident. Jean-Phillipe de Lafaye III who took a challenge he should have fled ("The Immortal Cimmoli" flashback). Gregor Powers from "Studies in Light" (one of the two survivors, yay, Gregor!). Johnny K, a punk gangster who just wanted the basics to go back to shooting people ("Glory Days"). Devon Marek, and why Duncan thought an English lord was going to listen to a Scottish merc is beyond me ("Black Tower"). Rich Ryan (most of the series). Claudia Jardine from "Timeless" (the other survivor). Danny Cimmoli ("The Immortal Cimmoli").

Further pointless counting: during his time in the Game, Rich took 5, maybe 6 heads per canon. In addition, Joe said Rich had been 'making himself a nasty reputation as a headhunter in Europe.' How many do you have to kill in six or eight months to start getting a real reputation? He did stop, at least, but God, poor Rich. He was finally starting to mature in canon when he died. Oh, well.

And if I think of more details later, I'll add them. I may yet come back and go through and list names for each of those. But poor Duncan!
