House and writing update

Well, the entryway and the hallway are no longer 'sell the house beige.' This is a good thing, because it was a particularly noxious yellow-brown tone of beige and clashed badly with the pine hardwood floors we uncovered. However. One, I had not planned on painting them. (They didn't look as bad with the cream carpet.) And two, the hallway had nine doorways. Eight of those doors had to be painted, every last doorframe had to be painted, corners convex and concave had to be painted, and o dear God, let's not start on the joys of two coats of paint on all the trim. ::shudders:: But, those are done. The dining room, guest bedroom, and our bedroom aren't done, and the bathrooms... will require professionals. Later. Eventually though, they'll get painted. But for now, the drop cloths are put away, the painters' tape removed, and the painting supplies shoved in a hall closet (door and trim freshly painted) because friends are coming to visit Friday and we're down to less than 30 boxes to unpack. This is almost a miracle of biblical proportion, as any of you who've seen our library can attest. (raine_wynd, tarshaan, shrewreader, you're my witnesses here.)

I have the Tyger seal of approval on the sex scene in Storm Crow, which means I should have about, um, two scenes to go. (eponin10, don't laugh, okay? Really, I think it's two. Probably.) Considering that I think this fic was started three+ years ago, finishing it at all is, again, a miracle. 8,975 words so far -- probably another 1,000 to go to finish this fic. It could use a sequel, probably, but I'll worry about that... much later. Yeah. Meanwhile, YAY!
