The horse stole the movie.

No. Really.

I had good beer (and got tipsy; I'm a very cheap drunk, I'm afraid) and a lovely turkey sandwich, and went to watch The Legends of Zorro with Merewyn (yes, she of the frequent beta question, "Is there going to be more sex?") and alysswolf. We had a lovely time. We giggled and cracked quiet comments to each other (and Merewyn told off the ( Read more... )

People are saying such great things about this movie that I'm almost ready to break up and go to a theater instead of waiting when it'll be released on DVD, as usual...

I loved the first one. I love Antonio. Damn, it really should be good.

::laughing:: Hell, yes. I'd like to clone Richard Dean Anderson (so we can do something about his poor, creaky knees) and Nick Lea, and Peter Wingfield, and... er. I'll hush now.

Yep, the priest is fun, isn't he. I met Tony Amendola twice this year, first at a dinner party/convention thingy a friend of mine organized in summer and just 3 weeks ago at another convention in the Netherlands and he's such a sweet sweet guy. Anyway he told us that he got casted for the second movie totally independent from the first where he played Don Luis, one of the bad guy's confidantes. But privately he thought that the priest was Don Luis' twin brother, something that certainly lends a whole other dimension of fun to that mock sword fight with Zorro's son.

And the eye candy, oh yes. Rufus Sewell does insane villain with a sword very well. When they did that fake joust I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from screaming with laughter.

And upon reflection I realize that you were probably talking about the other priest who was fun, too.

::laughing:: Yes, sorry, I meant Zorro's priest, not the father teaching school lessons. Fun movie, though!
