Out of curiosity, where did you learn of capoeira? I mean, obviously once you had a starting point, research can tell you a lot, but most people I know, even those involved in martial arts, haven't the faintest idea what I'm talking about if I mention it. So yeah, did you start from the religion aspect, or were you somehow exposed to what tends to be one of the more overlooked martial arts? *g*

::lol:: Well, it's like this.... I'm married to a double-black belt. (Black belt in Golden Talon kung fu, second degree black belt in kempo karate, and has studied Gods know how many styles over the last twenty years.) He likes martial arts movies, and one of the ones he has taped is Only The Strong, which has Mark Decascos as a capoeira fighter teaching a bunch of inner city students martial arts. It just kinda went from there.

Does that help?

Hee! Fantastic. That's one the horrible movies I love to hate, and yet have seen a good half a dozen times. So yeah. Helps. Danke.

True enough. Of course, this criticism comes from a girl who owns The Substitute 3 on VHS, so perhaps something about rocks and glass houses is in order. *g*
