Got forgotten/ignored/stoodup?
Got a good look at my cat Zach's mouth. It is worse than I thought it was. I assumed the tumor would grow around the bone, but it's actually moving the jaw around. The front of his mouth is out of alignment, and his teeth have moved around. The top fangs have spread apart quite a bit, and the bottom fangs have moved closer together. I would imagine that he's in a lot of pain, and yet he manages to eat all his food (still a great appetite), and he sleeps soundly, follows me around, meows and purrs. He is on pain meds, and maybe they are actually working. I hope so anyway. He breaks my heart.
Update:
I talked to the vet today, and he said this type of cancer actually goes/grows through the bone itself. That's one of the reasons it's inoperable, and also why its distorting his face so much.
I think something is going on around his eye now, too. I started him back on antibiotics tonight, and maybe (hopefully) he just has some swelling near the eye.
