I dearly love this episode. I love how clever it is; you know how Sam and Dean talk at the beginning about which is more likely, their kind of trouble or someone erasing all evidence of the crime from the security tapes? Yeah. It was strictly coincidental that the case did actually involve their kind of trouble
( ... )
Have I mentioned I love people being competent at things? Yes.
Competence is really quite excellent. I much prefer that to shows where people win at life because of dumb luck and happy, contrived coincidences.
but she gets red-eyed and probably snotty, and she wears comfy pajamas.
I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it, it is really refreshing to see someone fall apart in a realistic way. Shame she has to be a victim. :/
(Bizarrely, the actress appears again in a couple of seasons in a completely unrelated role.)
Like Kali Rocha! (sort of; Cecily and Halfrek are very badly and inexplicably related...) Or Luke/the Judge! Andrew/red shirt vampire!
S2 has been so amazing overall. It makes me incredibly happy to have these boys I really adore and so many seasons yet to watch.
S2 is fabulous. Some would argue that the show peaks in S2; at the very least, S2 is the best season for watching the show doing the kind of thing it's doing in S2. Later seasons also have very good things happening, but they are very different sorts of things.
I've watched up through 2x10 "Hunted," the one where Gordon returns and we meet Ava. They episodes are good enough now that I'm watching a lot faster than I can write reviews. I think I've liked every episode so far except for "No Exit," which annoyed me in the same way "Skin" did.
Later seasons also have very good things happening, but they are very different sorts of things.
I'm actually dreading that a bit, tbh. I know eventually we're going to get into major world-building, pseudo-religious angel stuff, and I'm always leery of fiction that tries to define and use God. I really like the focus being on the brothers' relationship, and I don't want to lose that with demon-angel wars and stuff like that. Similarly, I'm interested in Castiel but don't really want him to stick around and draw the focus from the boys. :/
