I read Inkheart last night. It was pretty good - centered around a neat, original idea that reminded me a little of Myst. Although it's geared for 12-15-ish year olds, so the story lines was pretty linear and simple. The characters were likeable enough but not extremely memorable. Over the Thanksgiving break I managed to devour, in addition to a lot of tasty food, 3 books. I read the first book in Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, "His Majesty's Dragon." Although I found myself wading through flowery Jane Austen-style prose at times, overall it's a well-written book. The plot and character development were thoroughly enjoyable ( Read more... )
