Plagiarism, HP Rec, IMAX Digital, Goodbyes, and the Sanford Affair

1. I hate plagiarism. A Sirius/Hermione time turner fic has been plagiarized on FF.net from an author at MuggleNet. Originally, I found this out from sirius_prongs, here. The original story by Soap was written in 2007 and the story on FF.net was posted all within seven days in June 2009!! I'm shocked and appalled that someone could do this and copy word for word!! She didn't even bother to change anything, not the plot or anything, but a direct copy and paste and was even offering a sequel that has already been written and posted!

Original by Soap: Smells Like Sirius Black
Plagiarized Story by RoseT7100: Time Travel
Sequel by Soap: Polly

I'm even more surprised that FF.net hasn't taken it down yet. Everyone should go report this. Click on drag down menu listed with "Add Stories to Favourites" and click "Report Possible Abuse", or this is the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/secure/report.php?categoryid=224&chapter=1&storyid=4885700&title=Time+Travel

2. The Forest of Seasons was written for me at the malfoy_weasley exchange. Go read! It's a fabulous adventure with Rose/Scorpius in it, PG-13. It's poignant and I love their characterizations. =)

3. Producer Frank Marshall Says “Don’t Spend Your Money” on IMAX Digital: I have say that I agree. We only have one theatre in the city that is actually an IMAX theatre, but the movie was shown at other movie theatres with the label as "IMAX Digital". I was sent out on assignment to see the Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience shown in "IMAX Digital" on the opening day. Throughout the movie, I kept on taking off the glasses provided since not all the scenes were in 3D. And the parts that were in 3D were crap. It looked like all they did was blur the primary colours together, and things that didn't need to be 3D stood out in the forefront. For example, the cell phones and glow sticks waving were shown in the forefront in 3D instead of the singers. Plus add that to some of the scenes that looked like it was scripted...well, it was just not the IMAX experience you'd experience at an actual IMAX theatre. The experience just fell flat (and that's nothing to do with the Jonas Brothers as I have nothing against them). It just didn't feel like I was actually there and if it had been shown in a regular theatre, I'm sure it would have been much better.

4. Goodbye to Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I didn't know them personally nor were they part my generation, but nevertheless, RIP to both. Also, Macleans Magazine has a poll asking, What's been your reaction to Michael Jackson's death?.

5. Governor Sanford from SC...I couldn't help but click on the link to read the emails exchanged (and that is why I would never want to be a public figure - everything you do is scrutinized and viewed). I feel a bit sorry for everyone involved - the guy sounds like he's in love...but the choices he made were a little, yah. He couldn't have told someone he trusts that he was going to Argentina? I'm sure if someone knew where he was and covered for him, then it wouldn't have gotten on the national news. Or maybe if he divorced his wife if he is so in love with Maria? He talked about wanting to help one of her kids career-wise and I think the most awkward part was when he just casually mentioned his wife and she mentioned another guy that was interested in her, but that they still love each other. It's like he wanted to have it both ways...but, yah, his personal life is his life, though the most incredulous part was that he just went AWOL. You don't do that if you're a governor and (possibly) use state funds. When private crosses into public, then that is a problem.
