I did not want to do Seven Virtues all that much at first. Truth. Erin didn't have to drag me but it was close. My weekends are precious to me just like everyone else's, and I just wasn't sure I wanted to commit. I am so glad she did, and that I was allowed to run rampant across such a kickass world.
Thoughts, in no particular order:
I will never run a larp. Never, ever. Not even if I suddenly become a millionaire and have the most fantastic idea in the world. I do not know how staff did it; the workload was, frankly, preposterous. Aside from that, I can't imagine the stress of, "Jesus Pete on a tricycle, I hope folks are having a good time! What if they aren't? What if they're just being NICE? Agh *FOOM* *ASPLODE*"
Don't reckon I could handle the pressure. For those who did, and have run games, I am in total, idiot awe.
It's a hard thing to learn PC names, especially when you might only see one person every few months at most. I still only know a handful of them.
I can no longer do the five o'clock fights, or even be awake at that time. Not and function particularly well.
It pays to read the writeups sometime during the week, and not ten minutes before you're supposed to go out. At least, I assume it pays. I wouldn't know. Thanks again to my wife for always printing mine off and beating me over the head with 'em.
Thoughts on NPC characters:
Mercer was a happy accident left over from a 7th Sea game. It was nice to let him stretch his extremely well-shaven legs and bounce around a bit. "Nate, you're a scroll merchant." "Ooo, can he be Mercer?" "Stunned silence from the boss"
Suffers the Wound was also me sprinting off the reservation. I like to think he was creepy and not entirely obnoxious. "Nate, you're an innkeeper." "Ooo, can he be blind and pretend to tell the future?" "Stunned silence from the boss" This would of course eventually escalate into, "Ooo, maybe he's a ghost and inhabits the bodies of his ancestors and EATS THEIR EYES!" Thanks again to the boss for letting me run loose. Thanks also for PCs for rolling with it too.
The Etherial of Things Left Behind on the Beach was odd; I didn't know he was inside my head. I'm gonna miss those two little wigs though. Goodbye, Mister Tiddles and Sven. You shall be missed.
Bad Badger: Damned difficult to play, and way outside my comfort zone. Also immensely rewarding. Glad I had a chance to sub for it.
It was a regular plethora of interesting characters to play; every event was a gas. And with such excellent roleplayers on both sides, each event was a surprise, too.
Cheers to all who were involved, and thanks for the umpteenth time for letting me tag along. It was a remarkable few years.
Can't say I'll miss being tied up and left in Waterfront shack though.
