We are a mixed belief household. My husband was raised Lutheran and I have witchy tendencies. After much discussion, it became apparent that it really didn't matter. I don't care if the kids go to church or any of that. I think it's probably better to hedge your bets. Plus, the organization of organized religion can be a very good thing. It gives structure. Anyway. I sometimes attend church too. I dig the music. Where else in this society do you get to sing out loud besides home and your car??
I have no idea how this will play out once the girls get to asking age. Like :mom...do you believe in GOD?:
But I am sure I will figure it out.
The last few days have brought up a few funny questions from Elena.
Yesterday "Mom......did the dinosaurs and god fight?"
Today "Ummm Mom.....have you ever had God or Jesus in your heart?"
Now this second question wasn't asked in that horrible way that adults ask it. It was more like Uhhhh what's that like?
My answer? " Umm Probably at some point."
It has had me smiling and giggling all day. I think the next time one of those adults asks me that, I might answer the same way.
