1 - Sadly, I was the one who instigated the whole "Let's trick Jenny the new K.P". I apologized after with a half-pint of lager. But, clearly, it was my fault that I put the idea of sending Jenny around the various eating establishments of the islands searching for a lobster gun and then, afterwards, a egg peeler. To those who have no idea what I am talking about, let me explain; it is common for kitchen staff to play around with any "newbie" (hello, mIRC term) (and chat room) ("newbie" - possibly also foreigner with no real grasp of English) in the kitchen. The chef will ask for some non-existent but still plausible ingredient or kitchen tool. Here are a few;
- chicken lips
- fish legs
- transparent food colouring
- bowl of steam (my favourite)
- a long wait (works on English As Second Language kids)
And, thus, the unwilling victim is sent out on a supposed important mission to other restaurants retrieve whatever is missing whilst the kitchen ring ahead to warn the other kitchens and everyone, because the community is small and everyone is friends (especially when it comes to fucking around with people) everyone plays along (quite well actually).
2 - The "Saffa" (South African - ?? I don't know about that term) Simon was explaining to me a drinking card game him and his mates were playing which SOUNDED A LOT LIKE GIT-FACE - that is, pull a certain card, and tell others to drink or you yourself drink etc., et. al. Had Git Face crossed the ocean?
3 - My parents have safely landed in London and are probably sleeping at the moment. They arrived at 5:30am this morning and couldn't check in until 2pm so have been wondering Kensington all day. I hope they see some famous faces, I think that would give their holiday a nice start. But, no, instead they found a Catholic Church and decided to go there which is sweet and just so, so them =) My dad rang me this morning with a "Hello. London calling..." greeting. Knowing my parents are here gets me all fuzzy on the inside. Tomorrow they leave London and for 12 days they will see probably more of Europe than I will. First stop; Paris.
4 - I was going to post some great photos from the Staff BBQ and of the walk Claire and I took today but Photobucket doesn't want to play today (bitch).
5 - Need some pep to your day? Listen to Cansei de Ser Sexy. Highly recommended. Hello, song titles like "Music is My Hot, Hot Sex (which includes the lyrics "...my music is where I'd like you to touch.") is just awesome. (And also New Young Pony Club)
5a - Claire and I have entered some electro-indie-rock-Le-Tigre-ish phase. It's great. It makes me want to get all tight-jeaned and sweaty from dancing.
6 - I've just watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which seemed a lot more scarier than I remembered. Also, am I the only one uncomfortable when Harry and Ginny are on the screen together - it seems almost indecent that they have "feelings" towards each other because of a pseudo-older-brother-little-sister thing? Bluegh.
A-ba-di-a-ba-di-a-ba-di that's all folks.
