JIB6 :: Photo Op update

Jul 13, 2014 09:48

So it looks like I got at least one of my two photo op requests.  After 14-ish hours of processing the email requests, Daniela announced this morning that all emails have gone out to those who did *not* get *any* of their requests.  Now I guess I wait to here details.  I will need to pay via a bank wire transfer. Which means I will actually need to ( Read more... )

Oh I use Paypal all the time. But JIB does not take Paypal. For some reason - the fact they are non-profit and/or overseas, not sure, they will only take wire transfers or some other service which seems to be similar, but just as high fees.

that's too bad. too bad they don't take credit cards.
okay, while i'm at it, WHY DO THEY MAKE THEIR WHOLE PROCESS SO DAMN DIFFICULT...not that i'll ever attend, but whatever. (the same applies to asylum)

What's so complicated about it in your eyes? *just curious*

having to send emails at THAT certain time; preferences to past attendees, yadayadayada.
frankly, this is a huge turnoff for me. i guess have that ugly american mindset. i prefer to try my chances at buying the item online and let the chips fall accordingly.

THAT time - side effect od high demand. ever tried getting tickets for comic con?
preferences to past attendees: creation goes a lot further in that area by even offering you to re buy your exact same seat or better directly at the con.

that's fine, to each their own. ;p

of course. I just saw that complaint about the past attendee priority so often lately and I still think it's funny (in a sad way) that people keep holding that against JIB when everyone else has a lot more extreme priority advantages.
only difference - the demand/availability-ratio is much higher. that's why people notice it more.

i think the way JIB handles past attendee priorities irks me in that it makes JIB virgins feel as if their attendance isn't as important.
IMO, it's diff at a creation con when one can re-register in advance because well, we're actually THERE and paying for it; we also have the opportunity to purchase advance tickets for others.
regardless, as i've said earlier: to each their own. IDGAF

While I agree that the process is a lot more drawn out than Creation, I am actually enjoying it. (For me) I think the fact I've now been to so many cons in the past and the fact that I'm a lot more overall relaxed about the logistics of cons than when I first started, helps to make it more interesting than difficult ( ... )

it does take a while until everything is done because they manually check and recheck and write to you. but that's just a side-effect of the super high demand. it used to ve faster. but since one just sends one request which takes just a few minutes, the time one has to invest oneself is not that much. just the time in between each step is longer, which I guess can be annoying to some if you are new to it. I personally don't mind it so much. it just means the money stays on my account a little longer ( ... )
