So it looks like I got at least one of my two photo op requests.  After 14-ish hours of processing the email requests, Daniela announced this morning that all emails have gone out to those who did *not* get *any* of their requests.  Now I guess I wait to here details.  I will need to pay via a bank wire transfer. Which means I will actually need to

While I agree that the process is a lot more drawn out than Creation, I am actually enjoying it. (For me) I think the fact I've now been to so many cons in the past and the fact that I'm a lot more overall relaxed about the logistics of cons than when I first started, helps to make it more interesting than difficult.

AND the fact that I have friends who have been through this and can hold my hand when I'm confused (which I can get.)

I'm reminded of a conversation I had with a coworker yesterday. She was saying that a new group of users to a process that our area has used for years shouldn't be complaining about how difficult and incomprehensible it is. But I remembered what it was like back when I was first introduced to it. It seemed to be totally confusing and (in my mind back then) way more complicated than was likely needed. I think it's all a matter of perspective and familiarity. After going through the first parts of this JIB process it now doesn't feel as complicated as it seemed to me initially. However, having said that, it is DEFINITELY a lot more drawn out and requires a more planning.

it does take a while until everything is done because they manually check and recheck and write to you. but that's just a side-effect of the super high demand. it used to ve faster. but since one just sends one request which takes just a few minutes, the time one has to invest oneself is not that much. just the time in between each step is longer, which I guess can be annoying to some if you are new to it. I personally don't mind it so much. it just means the money stays on my account a little longer.
obviously payment options like credit card or paypal would be more convenient for most (and again something people are more used to). but the downside to those would be higher prices because of the fees they would've to consider (which usually are percentage based not fixed per transfer which adds up pretty fast).
the need for planning is again a side effect if the high demand that requires very good timing for buying things. on the other hand you are also able to plan because unlike many others they actually let you know in advance when things will go on sale. by the time I get the newsletter mentioning any new things available for creation/rogue events those have usually been on sale already for hours/days.
I admit though that the ever increasing panic people produce is annoying. I mean even hotel rooms are selling out in less than a month? last time I booked ours totally relaxed in December.
