I had my first direct experience with requesting tickets for JIB this morning. My good friend
bflyw ordered our Angel passes, so she had the pleasure of the nerves and adrenaline rush of timing a request perfectly.
To
order single photo ops with Jared, Jensen, and Misha we were to send an email with specific information to JIB no earlier than 3:00 pm Rome time (6:00 am my time) on Saturday, July 12.
The JIB FB page linked to an "official"
Rome time clock which was recommended to be used to time your email as precisely as possible to Rome time. I got up at 05:15 am this morning to be sure my brain was at least partially online and coffee-ized enough to function by 6:00 am. I had composed my email last night.
As I was watching the Rome clock hit the "02:55:50" mark, I happened to glance up at the clock on my laptop, which showed "05:59:59". My finger was posed over the "send" button. My brain saw the "05:59:59" on my own clock and PUSHED. But the Rome clock was not quite at "03:00:00".
Oops!
I knew I couldn't really send the email twice because then I would be on the hook for 4 total photo ops. Which while isn't like awful, it's not great. And a difference with JIB is that while the primary seating pass *CAN* be transferred to someone else, Photo Ops can NOT be given to anyone else (even if you end up not going.) Originally I did not totally understand that, but after I accidentally pushed send potentially too early, I realized that if you could transfer photo ops, anyone could order multiple photo ops just to be sure they got what they wanted, knowing they could then re-sell them.
Anyway, I knew it would take xx seconds to get from me to the Rome servers. So I hoped that transport would be just slow enough to not show up in Rome before 3:00 pm their time.
Just a few minutes ago I received an "automatic" (about 3+ hours after my initial email) email stating JIB had received my email and would let me know in 4-5 days if I got my photo ops. So I'm hoping this means my request was not disqualified due to being received too early.
Even if I don't get any photo ops, it's all good. It's not like I don't have photo ops with these guys already. lol. I had considered not even ordering any. But my enabler friend,
fickleone, encouraged me to go ahead as a memento for what may be my only JIB foray. :)
The dual photo ops are to become available sometime in the "next months." So a JIB J2 photo op may still be in my future.
BTW, I've separated out my
JIB timeline into a separate post here and am keeping it up to date as things progress.
Oh and while we know we have an Angel pass, we do not yet know which seat numbers we have. That information is still to come.
