Wow, I wish my family had as much camp value as yours... Those pictures look like they are straight out of old Life issues, that's great. Also, they are well composed, does your family have a long tradition of decent photography?
Lol, I don't know if it is as much camp value as pack-rat-ishness.
As to the "long tradition of decent photography" - first of all, that phrase makes me laugh. It sounds unnecessarily pretentious. The last two photos, I am almost certain, were professionally taken. The others are more likely to have been just family pictures. I don't know that anyone in my family was a photographer, except my grandfather has taken it up as a hobby in the past decade. But these are all before that.
Well, I am an unnecessarily pretentious person, so that's fitting. As for the nature of the photographs, the last two look definitely like a professional job, but the ones that caught my eye were the "way too cool family" and especially the frat boy pictures, as well as the one of your grandfather just look really well composed to me, the people either were such great subjects that there couldn't have been a bad picture, or the photographer really captured a moment in them. In the frat boy, everyone has that young youthful exuberence, and the gaze of the onlookers is really what caught my eye. In the Florida photo, the mere color corordination, Jackie haircuts, and great overall color of the photo make it a real gem! Have any other great photos to share?
Oh my gosh! That's SO NEATO!! Hee hee. I love old pictures, especially when they're of people you know. I wish my family had some! I thought your dad was a girl in that first picture, and it took me a few seconds to decipher the caption. XD
I love the word persnickety too. I used it the other day at work & my friend was teasing me. She just kept walking by & saying "PERSNICKITY!" Hahaha. I'm positive you had to be there, but the word IS fantastic!
