Wooooooot!
I`m in Japan, hey.....
So the plane ride over wasn`t bad at all. They showed "Hellboy", which was awesome, and served pork desserts! So I sat there eating the bun and watching the hottest oversided red dude with horns and a cat fetish that I`ve ever seen. Bliss...
All airports look the same, so it didn`t really hit me that I was in Japan till we got on the highway and started seeing the landscape, houses, and advertisements. The signs for love hotels were pretty indicative too. The first day we all just went to bed mad early after dinner, and the next day orientation started. Ofter getting over my freak out session about the toilet, I settled into the hotel quite nicely, I think.
Yesterday I got to see the house where I`m living. Holy shit! It`s big, with a little garden and fence out front, right along a really traditional looking street. It`s also two feet away from a huge shopping center, so that helps a lot. We (me and the other AKP students) also went walking along Teramachi, the Kamogawa river, and in circles around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. It rocked my socks.
In the morning we were shown how to get to our home stay family house by Doshisha students. My two guides were two of the biggest goof balls, Kenta and Naru. When we got to Takatsuki station, they were looking at a map trying to figure our where to go next, arguing with each other, which was kinda ironic considering they were supposed to be my guides. So I started laughing my ass off, and this old lady walking by watched the whole situation, two confused Japanese boys trying to show a Gaijin around, and she started laughing at us too.
I love old ladies...
